We did the ride on Hwy 78 (which is really an interstate from north Jefferson County all the way to the Tennessee line) on the BR (250cc) and XC (500cc) in ~5 hours, with one 45 minute stop.
EDIT: It was between 4 to 5 hours for us, now that I remember. We left Bham at 6:30ish and got to Art's house in the 11:00 hour.

It took me 6 hours on the Zuma 125. It takes 4 hours on the GT 200l, and it took me 3.5 hours on the TMAX but that was with excessive speed and I don't want to repeat that. I got a warning ticket in Mississippi on US78 while on the TMAX on my way to the dismals camping trip.
Just have fun with it.
