That's a very pretty cover of a very good song about love. It does the song justice by highlighting the lyrics and not throwing a bunch of other stuff in our faces.
It makes me sad, even a bit bitter, to see the contrast of the covers of Sebadoh's Brand New Love, which is my favorite song *about* love, (but not quite a "love song", similar to this one) getting covered by such twats.
Have you heard Brand New Love? It's pretty astonishing. If you haven't, don't listen to the covers. They're tainted with "I'm only singing this to pull some teen ass". |

i couldn't recall anyone ever covering that so i google searched it and the first one that popped up was death cab for cutie. blech, i never understood the appeal of them. i think they have to be the most over rated/over hyed band out there. if you want to hear an even worse version go to itunes and listen to deadsy's version.

Deadsy makes me want to puke. The Superchunk cover is the best cover. Sebadoh recorded 2 versions, one on Freed Weed and the other on Smash Your Head on The Punk Rock. They're both great, but the SYHOTPR is phenomenal.
Speaking of covers, have you guys checked out some of this chick's other covers? Nice repertiore, and not all of it has the crazy reverb, which can get old. |

benjamin gibbard is an amazing lyricist. you can't argue with that.
