Alright Y'all, Monday morning I am scooter-bound for the west, a few changes of underwear as my luggage, a credit card as my cash, and the sun as my GPS. I expect to make a three-day trip of it. Hopefully LisaLisa can post some photos here. Myers has crawled all over the bike and pronounced it fit.
If it all works out I hope to hook up with San Antonio Scooterati to drop down to the Border and officially roll around in Old México.
More updates as they come. _________________ Rubber Side Down. |

Got the scooter packed. Everything fits under the seat except a duster I rolled up and bungeed to the back for that "Just driftin' through, Sheriff" look. Took it out and did a shakedown cruise of about 40 miles. Nothing flapped or rattled, but the seat cushion I bought a year ago for long rides has got to go; it might be soft on the butt, but it makes me sit a little bit higher and believe it or not that is just enough to throw out my back and distract me.
I was also trying to ride around so that my odometer lined up at "...420" for the start tomorrow so I could remember how far I'd gone, but at 418 I said screw it and went home to drink beer. _________________ Rubber Side Down. |

Battered oilcloth. Combine it with a good hat and good boots, and you can jump in a lake and not get wet. _________________ Rubber Side Down. |

his post says 3 days... and i think a couple changes of underwear wouldn't last 3 months
i guess he could go to a laundromat |

And there is such a thing as Walmart, too.
Like every wife, I'm hoping some of that underwear gets "retired" _________________ Det finns inte dåligt väder bara dåliga kläder. |

| Are you going as Rodrigo Diaz de Bivar or as Walter? Either way, have a safe and exciting trip. |

Actually, Robert left San Antonio for Tuscon at the beginning of the year. But we'll try to give Walter a good showing anyway. _________________ "The final measure of any rider's skill is the inverse ratio of his preferred Traveling Speed to the number of bad scars on his body." --HST |

Good Luck and have a safe trip.
I'd probably still take my GPS..as I'd probably end up in South America thinking I'm in Mexico...knowing my sense of direction. _________________ I call it my boomstick.. |
